A Stray to Botaram updates on Tuesday and Thursday.

Title: Taking Leave
(The face above looks politely chagrined, then consolatory, as the overseer worms get more and more frantic and desperate as their sickness grows upon them. Their words get harsh and shrill, while those of the face remain calm and measured.)
(The face seems ready to take a cheerful leave, as the worms gasp out their last unknown words and fade away...)

  1. It’s fair to mention that the alien script should be considered a Solvable Mystery. It is not random and those who enjoy codes may want to take a crack at it.

Only now do I recognize the negative space face. I feel rather silly.

    1. Please don’t feel silly! I appreciate the feedback.
I’ve never really been sure how to handle this shape or what to do with it. Most shapes in the Botaram palette look like something in some way, but this one was sort of the margin between a group of other shapes. It would be more useful if it were broken up into subshapes, but that’s not permissible according to the rules I’ve set for myself. I can let part of it fall outside of the panel and so I’ve used a section of it for a mountain range a few times.
From one orientation it looks to me like a figure hunched over with its leg stretched out, which is one reason I adopted the tag “A Walking Shadow”. From another, I decided it was ‘facey’ enough to pass with a little help from some other shapes, so I went with that.

    2. What do you make of it?

      Walking Shadow?

  3. Today’s installment seems rather fitting in today’s political climate, with the big guy throwing all his allies under the bus. I’m waiting for those folks to rise up against him (in both cases).
