2: Some Exposition
(Aun leans over Chax, who is stuck in the pit.)
Aun (thinks): Should I help him? He tried to hurt me. I'm just a new Strasmin, unskilled. He’s strong and bold!
Chax (thinks): I'm stuck! So young and already in trouble... The urge to strike has failed me; left me weak!
Aun (thinks): I was told that the lethal Oistrem hunt around here. If I just leave him, he could get killed...
Chax (thinks): Must I beg the one I attacked to help me? How shameful!
Aun (thinks): And my frenting rod must be under him somewhere...
Chax (thinks): If a Strasmin came by, I'd be slain! I’m hurt, with no fellow Oistrem to aid me. I have no choice!
(Aun reaches down, Chax reaches up.)
Aun: Would you like some HELP?
Chax: Please! HELP me!
