Title: Potential to Persist

Chax: The world drops away around me. Beyond blackness, beyond silence, there is simply nothing. Nothing to perceive, nothing able to perceive.
And yet... I still reason. Curious.
Oistrem lack souls, thus I have no existence beyond that of my body, the means by which I take a form that acts within the world.
So why I do not fully end?
I do feel something now, a sort of energy that drives my will, a potential to persist.
(As Chax lies nearly lifeless, a nearby spine lights up with ardent energy, similar to that which surrounded Aun. It spikes out to touch the tip of Chax's claw, illuminating it.)
