Title: Could One Trust
(Yme and the wounded Oistrem each follow their gloomy thoughts to the conclusions that follow.)
Yme: The Ancestors told us so many stories of the ancient treacheries, the Oistrem betrayal of Botaram that led to the Sundering of Susekho from the World.
It is possible to talk with them, if you can stop them from attacking you upon sight. It seems they do possess the power of reason. But where within them lies the capacity for reciprocal trust, or compassion, or mercy?
It is told of the Strasmin Eua, how she once laid down her rod to try to communicate with an Oistrem, and spoke with the beast for a time, when suddenly the light drained from its eyes and it leaped at her with murderous intent.
How could one trust a bargain made with such a foe?
Oistrem: No Namespike I have seen on Susekho records such a deed, where an Oistrem stops a Strasmin from attacking long enough to reason them away from their insane goal of defiling Botaram. Is it possible?
True, the total number of Namespikes is beyond our means of counting. Were I to ask of the Craisht, I know—
Craisht Voices: Strasmin are inherently warped by their blasphemous ideals, they cannot be trusted!
The best argument against such deceivers is the sudden blow of a well honed claw!—
Attempts at discourse only lead to sophistry and subversion. Stay true to your goal!
There may be Precedence, even for this—
Oistrem: I know what answer I shall receive.
