Missed Entry and Question.

I dropped the ball on Thursday; I”m regrouping for next Monday.

I’d like to get some feedback on the following: When I do a text entry, I do seem to move the story along a bit faster than I do in graphic mode. The text is also somewhat easier for me to prepare. Thus, I have considered making Botaram a text novel with occasional illustrations.

There are some arguments against it. I personally find that when I read a graphic novel and it switches to blocks of text, I don’t care for this and wind up skimming the text to get back to the word pictures. I don’t have this problem when I read a regular novel. What’s true for me may be true for others as well.

So, should I seriously consider reinventing Botaram as a text story?

  1. I vote for continuing with the pictures.

But if I'm REALLY choosing between text and nothing, I'll take the text.

I like the world you've created and want to see more.

  3. Oh come on! When I click "Name/URL", the site is SUPPOSED to ask me for my name and site, not assume I'm another Nonymous! 😛

I wasn't a nonymous a coule months ago and I'm not a nonymous now either!

  4. Oh sure, I complain, so then the site loses what I'd said and was complaining about it calling me a nonymous.

  5. By the way, it was:

  6. I'm not sure, but I will say this – if you do go the text route, I suggest non-comic illustrations to go with them to keep new readers interested, and I'd also be all for eventual textification of older comics – if done well enough, the initial descriptions of Strasmin, Oistrem and all the other crazy stuff in the world would be awesome.

  7. I'm not sure how he could illustrate this without comic-like graphics; he has some "rules", as mentioned earlier, about only using a specific group of shapes. I suppose he could use paper cutouts and then photograph the resultant artwork but it would still look somewhat like a comic.

    Just sayin'

  8. I didn't mean the type of graphics, I just mean illustrations rather than full comics.
